On Saturday, April 5th, the city of Monrovia will be awash in purple, and we’re
starting with MYRTLE AVE. Throughout Monrovia, towns, schools, and businesses
will “paint our town purple” to celebrate cancer survivorship and bring attention to
the yearly event.We’re using the power of purple to bring good news to cancer
survivors, to mobilize the community, to bring attention to the American Cancer
Society’s many programs and services in our community.
We invite everyone to join the fun, simply call us to find ideas on how to “Paint Our
Town Purple” at your school, college, restaurant or workplace, to spread hope in our
community. Whether you are a home-owner, a restauranteur, or a retail business
operator/owner, there are plenty of ideas for painting our town purple:
• Decorate your home or store windows with a purple display.
• Decorate the front yard, front entrance, fence, or door with purple balloons,
ribbons, yard sign, tie purple ribbons around tress in your neighborhood, insert a
purple bulb in your porch light.
• Wear purple clothing.
• Buy and wear our purple wrist bands.
• Turn your town landmarks purple.
• Decorate the exterior of your City Hall purple.
