Some of you may know Michele who works with Dr. Garcia at the Family Dog and Cat
Hospital. She has been working with us since Thanksgiving and we have come to the conclusion
that we can't live without her! She will be working side by side with Jen for most of January to
meet all of our "regulars" and their owners. We are very excited to have her on our team!
Welcome, Michele!

Check our
CALENDAR anytime for your sitter's availability. In order to serve our current
clients with the greatest integrity and provide new clients with the same level of service, we
may
not
be able to accept last minute requests. Why so much notice? If you are a new client, there is
a meet and greet and forms to fill out online. We will not take care of any pet, regardless how
"simple" their care is, without those two things. As you probably know, we hate saying "no" to
any pet, but without enough notice, we may not be available. Ideally, we'd like a
minimum of
72 hours notice for walks, two weeks for daily visits, and longer if your request is for overnight
stays or holiday assignments. And remember to ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS confirm and
re-confirm all assignments with us in writing within two weeks of your planned time away (email
jen@twodogspaws.com or 626.673.7978 for text).

Having trouble getting the cat to take a pill? Injections in a tortoise? Fluids in a bunny? Syringe
feeding a goat? It sounds crazy, but these are real needs for real pets…and we can help. Along
with years of working with local vets, I have the support of a few local veterinarians who
recommend Two Dogs Petsitting on a regular basis. A couple of these vets are available by
phone if we ever need them. Sitters of Two Dogs Petsitting are in constant communication and
have the ability to handle just about any pet need, day or night.

Transportation can sometimes become an issue when a pet becomes ill or simply needs to get to
the groomer. We offer discounted assistance to our senior clients on a regular basis. Dogs get
individual safety belts with a luxuriously soft bed, all other pets travel in carriers that are also
safety belted in. As some of you know, many of the specialists that our pets may need to visit
are not local…in these circumstances, what do you do? Take a day or more off from work
(most of us can’t do that without creating some kind of hardship), hire a Pet Taxi (at a minimum
of $55 per hour), or hire us (at a maximum of $50 per hour)?  We are the ONLY pet
transportation in the area. All others that are legitimate come from the 818 or 310 area
codes…you pay for their fuel and amenities that your pet may not use. In emergencies, they
may be the best option because they have stretchers & oxygen. However, if it takes them 30+
minutes to reach your pet and he/she is having breathing trouble…that’s too long to wait. No,
we do not have oxygen or stretchers, but we have location and safety, which may be
instrumental in saving your pet’s life. We recommend preparing for pet emergencies ahead of
time...we would be honored to be on your pet emergency list...just let us know.

We have been asked how clients can become "perfect". Well, perfect is a big word and we don't
ever expect perfection, but if you are looking for ways to make hiring a pet sitter seamless, we
have the answers. First, check out this article on
How to be a Better Client and before you start
typing up all your pet's information, look at our Online Forms. Yes, we are 99% paper less! All
of the information we need is asked for. It is your responsibility to provide us with your
standards for your pets. We will do the best job possible with or without full information, but
imagine how much more time we are able to spend playing with your pets if we didn't have to
look for cleaning supplies, pet food, litter, disposal areas, etc.  Here are all online forms in one
convenient place (under the Policies):
Online Client Forms. AND each client must submit a
completed
Policies & Procedures agreement prior to their next assignment start date...sorry, no
exceptions.

If you haven't read Bike's Barks yet, check it out:
BIKE'S BARKS Bicycle has started his own
advice column. Send your pet questions directly to him and he'll post his answers after
consulting with his expert panel (the tortoise and bird). bicycle@twodogspaws.com

Thank you for trusting us and the other professionals we recommend...check out our
LINKS
page. Please don't hesitate to call or email with any questions at any time about our services or
other professional services...we are happy to share our experiences with you.

The link of the month goes to
VJ's Auto Service...Certified Master Technicians. We would be
lost without their services. VJ, Dane, and the rest of their crew have gone above and beyond to
maintain & repair our vehicles, every single time. They keep the vehicles that some of your pets
travel in, in great working order.
VJ's Auto Service treats all of their customers as if they are the
only priority...and each vehicle gets top of the line services at competitively reasonable prices.
We are grateful to have them nearby and a phone call away. Two Dogs Petsitting has trusted
them for years and highly recommend them for any maintenance & repair need!

Wishing you the best!
Jen, Steve, Kristyn, Kim, Michele, and our pet helpers Bicycle, Tiberius, Boomerang, and Old
Man Myrtle.

In an effort to keep you all informed, you can check out the ever famous fine print here ANYTIME AND OFTEN: FINE

The holiday season was very busy for us all! We are extremely grateful for your business and
your trust. With 2010 here, we are expecting to meet even more great pets and wonderful clients.
If you are working longer hours and your pup needs a mid-day break or walk, we can help. For
more than 3 visits M-F, there’s a price break…just ask us. We also offer cost-effective rates for
weekly visits that extend beyond 4 weeks…just ask us. Same offers exist for pets on
medications. If you are a Monrovia Chamber of Commerce Member, you receive 10% of all
services as part of the Member 2 Member program.
As a business owner who struggled to "keep the doors open" in 2009, I am happy to announce
that we made it through and are passing on the great news by rewarding you, our loyal client!
There will be no standard 2% rate increase in 2010 and we will keep having contests where you
can win $10, $25, 10% off, or even FREE services if you enter and win.
The easiest ways to enter these contests is by
following us on Twitter or becoming one of our
fans on Facebook.

I hope all is well for you, your friends, and your family (pet & human!).
