Two Dogs Petsitting has a team for the fourth annual American Cancer Society Relay For
Life of Monrovia. This year, it will be at Recreation Park on April 26-27. Relay For Life is a
24 hour event that brings the community together while raising awareness about all the
ACS programs that help so many. Please join us!
Here are a few things our team is doing to celebrate our survivors, remember those who have lost
their battles to cancer, and fight back so that one day we will have a cure:
Pre-Relay Fundraising and Events:
• Watch for the gnome!—we have painted a garden gnome purple (Relay signature color) and have been
transferring him from yard to yard, removing him, sending him to a friend, or banning him from your yard for a
small donation. Anyone who gets “gnome’d” can opt for a free t-shirt. Unfortunately, our lawn jockey broke,
but if we can fix him, he’ll be back in action.
• Sponsors—We have been going out and speaking with local businesses about sponsoring our team. See
who has sponsored us so far: www.twodogspaws.com and let us know if your business is interested in
sponsoring. For guidelines on sponsorship levels email Jen at jen@twodogspaws.com
• Donations—If sponsoring sounds scary and you want to support Two Dogs Petsitting, donations are
gladly accepted. Secure online donations can be made here:

their name.
• Luminaria—Our friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, and pets who have battled or are battling cancer
will be remembered/honored by decorated luminaria bags. Monrovia Relay is particularly special because we
are the only Relay in the area who has lavender bags for our pets. Jen has personally lost two pets to cancer and
cared for countless others. To order luminaria, visit: http://events.cancer.org/rflmonroviaca or you can get
them at the Relay before 7 p.m.
On-site Fundraising:
• Rent-A-Lap Dog—not for your actual lap, but for a lap around the Relay route. We will have a few dogs
hanging out at the Relay and for a donation of $1, participants can rent one for a lap. (Not more than 2
consecutive laps and not if it’s too hot). If your dog gets along well with others, he/she is more than welcome to
join us! Please contact Jen at 626-673-7978 if you have a dog that wants to get involved.
• We will be donating services to the Silent Auction--Do you call us often? This is the perfect way to give
back without spending any extra money…and if you win, we always give away really great pet products!
• Raffles--Some will be for pet products and some for really cool things like private plane rides!
• Taste of Relay—Because our booth theme is “Pajama Party”, we will be offering snack foods during the
Relay for one to five tickets. Tickets will be offered at the Relay for $1 donation each.
• Miss RelayPageant—We will enter a male contestant (in drag) and he will make a short speech and
attempt to gain the crown. See the video and last years photos on the unofficial site: www.relaymonrovia.com
• Glow in the dark gear—We have a ton of glow-in-the-dark bracelets, necklaces, etc. for a small
donation. Make sure you get your gear before it gets dark…they go fast!
• Personal Candles—For a small donation, you can carry your own vanilla scented candle in a take-home
glass candle holder. Make the Luminaria Hour even more special and come by our booth to get a personalized
votive holder. We will decorate or you can decorate.
